Sleemon Commercial Advertisement

 Press Conference, September 2, 2006:

Gong Li participated in a press conference in Guangzhou (Canton) to promote Sleemon Furniture Company's line of mattresses. The vice-president of the company had met with reporters in late August to announce that Gong Li had accepted an invitation to become spokesperson. They wanted to start working with her last year, but she has been busy filming and promoting her work. At the September 2nd press conference, Chen Yuewen said their goal is to not just sell a product, but also the brand, culture, and life style. The company has been in business for 22 years, and is one of Asia's largest. As they are now expanding their business on a global scale, they sought a spokesperson who is recognized around the world. During the press conference, Gong Li signed a mattress, and it was auctioned off; the winning bidder got to pose on stage with Li.

Large photos of Li were on display at the 19th session of the Shenzhen international furniture expo. From an August 30 article: "At the biggest meeting exhibition hall… three outer walls were all decorated with huge pictures of Gong Li."
